Turn anything you read into flashcards you'll remember

Clozely is a desktop studio for making cloze flashcards at reading speed. Open a PDF, a slide deck, or any website. Highlight a sentence, get a card, send it to Anki.

For Windows and macOS · Works with Anki

Reading is the slow part. Card-making shouldn't be.

Most flashcard workflows make you leave the page: copy, switch apps, paste, format, fix. Clozely collapses all of that into one gesture.

1

Open anything

PDFs, PowerPoint, Word documents, or any website, right inside Clozely. If you can read it, you can card it.

2

Highlight → card

Highlight a sentence and it becomes a card on the spot, then select a word or phrase to turn it into a blank. No copying, no leaving the page.

3

Send to Anki

Review your batch, tweak anything in the built-in editor, and export straight into your Anki decks via AnkiConnect.

Built for serious memorizers

Designed with medical and health-science students in mind: anyone whose grades depend on volume.

True cloze control

Drag, resize, and snap cloze deletions to exactly the words you want. Multiple clozes per card, renumbered automatically.

AI generate mode AI

Point Clozely at a chapter or a page and it drafts a batch of cards. Review, edit, or reject each one, and see exactly where in the text every card came from, so you can trust what you keep.

Image occlusion

Cover the labels on a diagram and quiz yourself on what's underneath, without leaving the document.

Works with Anki

Clozely makes the cards; you review them in Anki. Export straight to your decks via AnkiConnect, or save an .apkg file, and keep your existing review routine.

See where every card came from

As you build, click any card to jump straight to the passage it came from, so you can verify it in a second before you ever export.

Keyboard-fast

A guided tour teaches you the shortcuts once; after that, card-making keeps pace with your reading.

Questions, answered

Does Clozely replace Anki?

No, and that's the point. Anki is the best review engine there is. Clozely is the fastest way to fill it. You make cards in Clozely and review them in Anki, on any device Anki runs on.

What can I make cards from?

PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, and any website you can open in the built-in web tab. One app, one workflow, for everything you study.

Do I have to use the AI?

No. The manual highlight-to-card workflow is the heart of Clozely and never requires AI. AI drafting is an optional add-on for when you want a first pass over a long chapter, and you review every card it suggests.

What platforms are supported?

Windows and macOS.

Tip: a personal email (Gmail, etc.) is most reliable, since some school inboxes filter messages from new senders.
